A feel for the work

Different projects.
The same care.

Existing studio work to spark a few possibilities. Your award website will start with your project’s own needs.

These are studio projects, not previous Cause Award recipients. This is the first edition.

02 / Good work comes in all shapes

You don’t need
a charity number.

A solo business. A community club. A charity. An idea ready to leave the notebook. If you’re based in the UK or Ireland, tell us what a better website would change.

A few practical things.

  • A lead applicant aged 18 or over. Youth-led projects may apply through an authorised adult.
  • You must be authorised to represent the project. One application per project.
  • A genuine project that can be delivered within the final advertised scope.
  • No purchase, newsletter subscription, followers, likes or shares required.
  • Organisers, judges and their immediate families are excluded. Other judging conflicts must be declared and managed.

03 / Your idea, in your words

Three answers.
500 words.

That’s the whole pitch. A clear, honest account is enough. Writing help is welcome; polish doesn’t earn extra points.

Read the questions and start your answers. Submit your application from 1 October.

Prepare your application ↗

Contact the studio for accessibility assistance.

  1. 01

What are you building, and who is it for?

Explain the person, business, group or project behind the application.

  2. 02

What difference would the website and award package make?

Describe the problem it would solve or the opportunity it would create.

  3. 03

How would you put it to use during the next year?

Give a realistic picture of the next step.

04 / Selected on substance

A fair hearing.
A useful next step.

We look at your purpose, the difference this support would make, your need for it and a realistic plan. A small project has as much reason to be here as a bigger organisation.

Jb makes the final decision within the published criteria, with independent input. Followers, likes, shares and newsletter subscriptions have no effect on the result.

The judging process and tied scores

Applications use the published 30/30/20/20 rubric, with benefits considered relative to each project’s circumstances. An independent judge or panel member will participate, and judges’ names will be available on request. Judges declare conflicts and step aside from affected assessments. Only submitted entries are judged; contact details and newsletter choices are not scoring factors. Ties use practical benefit, then purpose and audience, then a documented reassessment including the independent judge. Jb has the final organisational decision within the published criteria and recorded independent assessment, including eligibility and deliverable scope. Selection is never based on popularity or random choice.

The practical questions

Good to know.
Before you begin.

Is ecommerce included?

Yes. A focused shop, bookings, donations or other suitable integrations can be part of the agreed website. You provide your product details, content, policies and business accounts. Paid platforms, payment processing and fulfilment remain your responsibility.

Do I need a charity number or an existing website?

Neither. Individuals, businesses, charities, clubs and informal groups in the UK and Ireland can apply. Your project can be established or preparing to launch.

What do the 10 monthly hours cover?

Agreed development, improvements, maintenance and support. We choose priorities together and keep a time record. Unused hours expire each month. Extra work is never chargeable without your agreement.

Will I own the domain and website?

Yes. You are the domain registrant and receive your website source, brand assets and relevant account details. Existing studio tools and third-party licences retain their own terms. Domain renewals from year two are paid directly by you.

Is the email free forever?

Lvthn sets up Zoho’s free tier where available: up to four team inboxes and one project integration inbox. Its availability and features are controlled by Zoho. Any paid alternative or upgrade is discussed with you before you commit.

Can I save an unfinished application?

Yes. Open the application page, verify your email using a one-time link and save a draft. You can return with a fresh link. A draft is not an entry: you must submit it before the deadline. Jb can see saved drafts for administration, but only submitted entries are judged.

Can someone help me write it?

Absolutely. We score the substance of your proposal, not spelling, grammar or presentation. Keep the three answers within 500 words combined. Contact the studio if you need accessibility assistance.

What if I want to leave?

You can leave whenever you choose. We arrange a practical handover with no exit fee. You keep the work already delivered; hosting and support elsewhere become your responsibility. Lvthn may offer the support to another eligible project.

Your next chapter starts with three answers

Got something
worth building?

500 words. A clear idea. We’ll take it from there.
