Challenge

A WordPress shop and editorial archive had grown into a much bigger idea. The rebuild needed to connect commerce, independent sellers, reviews, community submissions, membership and collecting tools without feeling like a conventional ecommerce template.

Approach

We treated strategy, identity, experience design and engineering as one system. The Astro platform brings the shop, marketplace, Tried & Tested, Oh So Haunted, Vault Vote, My Vault and the hidden Spectral Shell together inside a shared archive language, with Cloudflare, Stripe and Resend supporting the operational layer.

Outcome

Ecto‑Vault now feels like entering an operational private museum: fast, distinctive and alive, with a launch-ready foundation for products, stories, sellers, members and community participation.

Decisions, not decoration

What the visible work is doing underneath.

01

Hierarchy

The order and weight of content guide attention toward the next useful decision rather than treating every message as equally urgent.

02

Confidence

Proof, reassurance, and practical detail appear close to the moments where a visitor is most likely to hesitate.

03

Ownership

Type, colour, image treatment, and interaction create a recognisable world without getting in the way of the task.
